You are looking into buying or renting a container and you are wondering how this will work with the delivery of the container. Below we go into more detail about the ways of delivery, the various options, but also what you should pay attention to at your location before we can place the container.
In most cases we deliver our containers on our crane trucks. The crane truck can then place the container at the desired location. Of course, the maximum reach of the crane, the location where the wagon must be stamped and the size of the container must be taken into account.
A standard 20ft container can be placed about 12 meters from the car, if there are no obstacles. It is also possible to place the container over a wall, fence or hedge, in which case it is nice if the car can stand right next to it.
In order to take a container from the wagon with the crane, the wagon must first be outrigged so that it stands firmly in order to be able to lift the weight of the container. Stamping must be done on a hard surface!
If in doubt whether your container can be placed at the desired location, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.
We also offer the possibility to deliver your container on a flat wagon, or a wagon without a crane. You choose this if you have the option to lift the container from the vehicle at the location itself, with a large forklift truck or a crane on site.
This option is more often chosen when the container is to be placed in a distant or inconvenient location and for which a telecrane will be on site. In that case you save something on transport costs by letting the flat car drive.
This choice is also often made for delivery on large construction projects where there is also a crane on site or a large forklift.
Your container can also be delivered with a side loader. The side loader is a wagon that can only place the container directly next to the wagon. This option is chosen when, for example, there is little space at the location for placement or because the container has to be placed in an interior space where the crane truck has no space to lift the container from the truck.
When purchasing a container, it is also possible to pick up the container yourself. Of course you arrange the transport yourself. The container can be placed on the truck at our depot, for which we charge standard handling costs.
Sometimes the customer wants the container to be placed indoors, for example in a warehouse, in some cases this is possible with the crane truck, provided that he has enough space for the crane (minimum height of the space must then be 8 meters).
Or with a side loader because this truck does not need height to unload, but of course it does need the drive-in space and width.
If this is not possible, it is sometimes also possible to load the container outside of the crane truck and place it on so-called 'fixed wheels'. In this way the container can be rolled inwards. This must be checked and discussed in advance.
At CBOX Containers you have the option to order your container 24/7 from any location. You can schedule the transport online and you will be kept informed of every step in the order process. All information about your order can be found in your own CBOX account.
